Race Day InformationWhat You Need To Know

When: June 7th 2014

Distance: Over 10-12 miles, fastest time should be around 180 minutes. Those who can climb well will be rewarded.

Start Times: Starting at 8am, waves of 200 athletes will be released every 15 minutes across 5 groups (Elite, Confirmed, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon). YOUR exact start time in the group you registered for will be posted here a few days prior to event date. Want to know more details? Read our FAQ.

Aid Stations: There will be six aid-stations on course, and one at the finish line. Please make sure you are properly hydrated. Come prepared, carry your own water and energy supply.

All Racers Receive:

Parking: $10 per car. $20 for large passenger vans. $50 for buses. Cash only.

Directions: All Racer and Spectator Parking is located at Laguna Seca, Wolf Hill/ Purple Parking located at S Boundary Rd & Barloy Canyon RdMonterey, CA 93940

NOTE: CARS MUST ENTER AND EXIT VIA Highway 68 / CANYON DEL RAY BLVD / GENERAL JIM MOORE BLVD / SOUTH BOUNDARY ROAD in DEL RAY OAKS. ALL OTHER ENTRANCES TO LAGUNA SECA WILL BE CLOSED. TORO PARK AND THE AREA AROUND TORO PARK (including private roads and the shoulders of Highway 68 around exit 19) will be closed to racers and spectators who do not carry a handicap parking pass.

Shuttles: We will be providing shuttles to take all racers to and from the race venue. Please arrive at least 2 hours prior to your start time to allow for sufficient travel time to venue. Estimated shuttle time is 40 minutes to the race site, so please arrive early.

Spectators: Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? Spectator tickets are available for $20 online (click the yellow register button above like you're registering for the race, and you choose the spectator option), or purchase them onsite for $25 (please bring cash). As a Spartan Race spectator, you'll receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the rocking festival area, a festival grounds map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator pit and finish line. Enjoy the music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds! You can also test your fitness in our festival challenges including the Pull-Up Challenge, Slosh Pipe Challenge, Kaiser Challenge and Traverse Wall Challenge. Beware, the next ticket you'll want to buy might have you standing on the Spartan starting line!

Strength comes in numbers!   Become part of a team to help yourself and others get through the event, save money, and support our troops.

How does it work?

Register as a team and add members! The more people you can get to join your team, the more money you will get back in your pocket! We will give you a percentage off of your registration fees. So you will be rewarded, before you even finish the race.

How many people are needed to make a team?

Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.

Which team takes home the prizes?

The fastest 4 times of the team will be used to calculate the team's finishing time. Prizes will be awarded to the team who finishes on top! Interested? Learn more here...

You will pick your packet up on race day morning, so arrive early!


12 Hour Hurricane Heat - HH12HRSaturday June 7th Between the hours of 6am - 10pm

HH12HR Hurricane HeatHH12HR is a unique team-building experience designed to test each athlete's physical and mental toughness. HH12HR will take place on Saturday, June 7th between the hours of 6am-10pm.

 

Come prepared for anything and everything.

 

HH12HR will serve as one of the qualifying events for the Peak Death Race. A limited number of athletes will qualify to participate in the legendary Peak Death Race.

Spartan Kids RaceSpartan Racing For Kids

Varsity Spartan | 1 mile
Varsity Spartan Start Times:
Saturday - 10am, 12pm, and 2pm
Sunday - 10am and 12pm

 

Jr Varsity Spartan | 0.5 miles
Junior Varsity Spartan Start Times:
Saturday - 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:30pm
Sunday - 10:30am and 12:30pm

 

Spartan Race is not only limited to adult fun! Bring the kids ages 4-13 who can participate in their very own Jr. Spartan race. They will enjoy the thrill of the run, a variety of scaled down obstacles and their own mini festival area filled with games and children's challenges! Our mission is to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age.

 

The course is about a 1⁄2 mile filled with junior obstacles for Jr. Varsity Spartans and 1 mile for Varsity Spartans. Each child will receive a T-shirt and Finisher's Medal with 100% of the Jr. Spartan Adventure proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.

 

We now have 3 start times for each distance for the Spartan Kids Race! No excuses parents, now the entire family can race!

 

Pre-Register: $25 / Day of Registration: $30

 

*Kids Registration and check-in closes at 2pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday so please be early. To register, click the REGISTER button on the top right of this page.

 

**Each family will receive two free spectator passes at registration.
