In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the race will make everything they can pink - even the obstacles. In addition, an 3:00pm heat dedicated to breast cancer survivors, family & friends is available where 50% of the money raised from this heat will go to the Chicagoland Area Affiliate of Susan G. PARKING:
All parking is on site at 2725 E 2625th Rd. There will be a $10.00 per car (cash) parking fee collected by the venue when you park. Please don’t park on the roads or you will be ticketed. This applies to anyone (spectators, racers, King Leonidas, etc).

Hurricane Heat AvailableRun with the Spartan race Founders & Staff

The Spartan Hurricane Heat gives athletes the chance to meet and run with the Founders of Spartan Race in a unique and memorable way. You'll be put on a team and you'll finish as a team. No timing chips, no clock, no bells and whistles. No one gets left behind. It's simply a Spartan-style workout that represents what our company and our athletes are all about… getting up when you’re knocked down and finishing what you start.

After an epic event in 2011, the Midwest Hurricane Heat will be again held on Friday night (head lamps and glow sticks required!). We'll run the course backwards, sideways, or while carrying our buddies, but one thing is for certain: this one is going to be EPIC!

Start time: Arrive Friday evening prior to 6:00pm, and be ready to go at 6:30pm SHARP. Don't be late! It will be dark when we finish, so come prepared.

Successful finishers earn Hurricane Heat dogtags, a finisher shirt, a Hurricane Heat badge, entry into a closed networking group, and the chance to build relationships that will last well beyond the finish line.

Race Day InformationWhat You Need To Know

When: October 27th and October 28th*, 2012

Distance: 8-9 miles of the gnarly, rugged and extreme.

Start Times: Heats start at 8am with up to 250 racers and continue every 30 minutes throughout the day. Enter the 8am “Elite” heat if you want to be as competitive as possible and race against the best.

Darkness: There will be a 4:30pm course cutoff at the half-way mark on course. In order to continue past this point at 4:30 or later, all racers MUST have a headlamp.

Aid Stations: 3 total. One station at 2, 4, 6 mile markers.

All Racers Receive:

- Finishers Medal
- T-Shirt
- Free Beer ticket for anyone 21 and over
- A chance to play on some really unique terrain
- Bragging Rights
- A scrape (or two)
- More stories to tell

Spectators: Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? Spectator tickets are available online for $10 (click the yellow register button above like you're registering to race and choose the spectator option), or purchase them on-site for $15 (please bring cash). As a Spartan Race spectator, you'll receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the rocking festival area, a festival map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator pit and finish line. Enjoy music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds! You can also test your fitness in our festival challenges including the Pull-Up Challenge, Slosh Pipe Challenge, Kaiser Challenge and Traverse Wall Challenge. Beware, the next ticket you'll want to buy might have you standing on the Spartan starting line!

Strength comes in numbers! Become part of a team to help yourself and others get through the event, save money, and support our troops.

How does it work?

Create a team or join a team! The more people on a team, the more money everyone will get back in their pocket! Each team member will receive a discount, refunded to the method of payment used, a few days prior to race day. The discount escalates as the team size increases, so get more friends to join your team and everyone saves more money!

How many people are needed to make a team?

Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.

Which team takes home the prizes?

The fastest 4 times of the team will be used to calculate the team's finishing time. Prizes will be awarded to the team who finishes on top! Interested? Learn more here...

Pre Race Packet Pick-Up Roadrunner Sports - Friday October 26th 4-7pm

Stop by Roadrunner Sports Naperville on Friday and pick up your registration packet for Saturday's event to beat the lines on race day! Also, receive a 10% off coupon for any purchase during packet pick-up. Look for Spartan Race registration signs.

Waivers & Multiple Packets – All racers MUST show photo id and have a completed waiver to receive your packet. Each racer must pick up his/ her own packet.

Sunday Racers MUST pick-up their packets on-site Sunday morning. No Exceptions.

Spartan Kids RaceSpartan Racing For Kids

Varsity Spartan | 1 mile

Spartan Race is not only limited to adult fun! Bring the kids ages 4-13 who can participate in their very own Jr. Spartan race. They will enjoy the thrill of the run, a variety of scaled down obstacles and their own mini festival area filled with games and children's challenges! Our mission is to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age.

The course is about a 1⁄2 mile filled with junior obstacles for Jr. Spartans and 1 mile for Varsity Spartans. Each child will receive a T-shirt and Finisher's Medal with 100% of the Jr. Spartan Adventure proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.

As a leader in the movement to help children learn life-long health and fitness habits, the Kids Fit Foundation strives to raise awareness and develop programs that educate, empower and inspire kids to become and stay fit.

Spartan Kids’ heats go off between 12pm and 1pm.
