In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the race will make everything they can pink - even the obstacles. In addition, an 11:30am heat dedicated to breast cancer survivors, family & friends is available where 50% of the money raised from this heat will go to the Chicagoland Area Affiliate of Susan G. 4 PERSON TEAM CAPTAINS: You will pay for your ENTIRE team as well register all team members. TEAM CAPTAINS of Teams of 10 or more: You will create and register yourself for your team. Once your team has been created please advise your team members to REGISTER and JOIN your TEAM. If your team does not have 10 people registered 2 weeks before the event, the team captain will be charged the difference from the standard individual pricing for not having 10 people.

Strength comes in numbers!   Become part of a team to help yourself and others get through the event, save money, and support our troops.

How does it work?

Create a team or join a team! The more people on a team, the more money everyone will get back in their pocket! Each team member will receive a discount, refunded to the method of payment used, a few days prior to race day. The discount escalates as the team size increases, so get more friends to join your team and everyone saves more money!

How many people are needed to make a team?

Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.

Which team takes home the prizes?

The fastest 4 times of the team will be used to calculate the team's finishing time. Prizes will be awarded to the team who finishes on top!

PARKING - Where You Need To Be:

All parking is on site at 2725 E 2625th Rd. There will be a $5.00 per car (cash) parking fee collected by the venue when you park. Please don’t park on the roads or you will be ticketed. This applies to anyone (spectators, racers, King Leonidas, etc).

Race DetailsWhat You Need To Know

When: Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Distance: About 3.5 miles, fastest time should be around 29 minutes. Longest times will be close to 2 hours.

Start Times: Heats start at 9am with up to 250 racers and continue every 30 minutes throughout the day. Enter the 9am “Elite” heat if you want to be as competitive as possible and race against the best.

Aid Stations: None… hydrate before or carry your own water on the course. Or plan on drinking river water (not recommended).

Please note that no pets, coolers, or grills are allowed within the event area.

 

SPECTATORS - Wanna Watch?

Spectator tickets are $20, sold on-site (please bring cash, limited Credit Card service available). As a spectator you receive a FREE DRINK (beer or other), live music, limited access to the courses (but still plenty of opportunity to see your Spartan racing), a chance to try your skills and win some prizes on our mini time-trial course or spear throw challenge, and $5.00 off any merchandise. We've learned that Chicago mud is STICKY and SLICK so dress appropriately. There will be no hard plumbing, just portable toilets. Food and drink will be for sale. Want to get in for free? Then volunteer for half the day!

2/9/11: Cliffs Insane Terrain Off-Road Park lives up to it’s name. They’ve done a great job creating a challenging experience for ATV’s, Motorbikes, and 4x4’s of any size. Now you get to reap the rewards of all their hard work making trails rockier, cutting ravines deeper, and creating a network of trails traversing the most challenging and unique terrain in the area. The course will have lots of quick steep ups and downs and a mix of technical single and open double-track. You can expect fire, water, and plenty of built obstacles. It will be a fun course for those wanting to take their time, and a lung and leg burner for those running at their fastest pace. If you really want to see what you are made of compared to your fellow Spartans then tighten your cape, sharpen your sword and sign up for the 9am heat. Don’t forget to get out fast from the start as the course quickly narrows down to a singletrack descent. It will open up again after that, but to win this you’ll need to dominate from the beginning. If your goal is just to finish, then take your time and enjoy the ride.
