In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the race will make everything they can pink - even the obstacles. In addition, a 1:30pm heat dedicated to breast cancer survivors, family & friends is available where 50% of the money raised from this heat will go to the Charlotte Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure. You can run as an individual or get signed up for the 2 person relay and race it with a friend!

Race Day InformationWhat You Need To Know

Spartan Beast - 10-12 mile Obstacle Race from Hell. If you have done any race anywhere in the world: whether a mud run, fun run, olympic run, bike race, death march or any kind of event claiming to be the "toughest race on the planet" you will be happy to know that this is where it ends..THIS IS THE SPARTAN BEAST...Step up and get out of your comfort zone, many will arrive, but few will leave!

 

When: October 13th 2012

Distance: Over 10-12 miles, fastest time should be around 180 minutes. Those who can climb well will be rewarded.

Start Times: Heats start at 8am. Enter the 8am “Competitive ” heat if you want to be as competitive as possible and race against the best.

Aid Stations: Three aid stations will be on course with water and/or sports drinks. This might change as race day approaches so be sure to check back.

Spectators: Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? Spectator tickets are available online for $10 (click the yellow register button above like you're registering to race and choose the spectator option), or purchase them on-site for $15 (please bring cash). As a Spartan Race spectator, you'll receive $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, entry to the rocking festival area, a festival map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic Gladiator pit and finish line. Enjoy music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds! You can also test your fitness in our festival challenges including the Pull-Up Challenge, Slosh Pipe Challenge, Kaiser Challenge and Traverse Wall Challenge. Beware, the next ticket you'll want to buy might have you standing on the Spartan starting line!

How does it work?

Create a team or join a team! The more people on a team, the more money everyone will get back in their pocket! Each team member will receive a discount, refunded to the method of payment used, a few days prior to race day. The discount escalates as the team size increases, so get more friends to join your team and everyone saves more money!

How many people are needed to make a team?

Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.

Which team takes home the prizes?

The fastest 4 times of the team will be used to calculate the team's finishing time. Prizes will be awarded to the team who finishes on top! Interested? Learn more here...

SPARTAN RELAY2 Person team Relay

What's more fun than taking on a Spartan Beast in alone? Doing it with a friend in a two-person team relay! For the first time ever, our Carolinas Spartan Beast will feature a brand NEW option for anyone who wants a new twist on our classic race format. We are offering a two-person team relay registration! Each racer will take on a portion of the course (6+ miles filled with obstacles) earning each member the NEW SPARTAN RELAY finisher medal and all the Spartan glory of race day! The Relay heats are 12:30pm and 1:00pm and are not eligible for our competitive heat BUT our fastest relay team on the day will earn a prize! Prices open at $180.00 for both racers (or just $90 each). Be one of the FIRST to receive the new, YELLOW relay finisher medal!

Want to join Team X-T.R.E.M.E. on race day in the Carolinas? $105 of your registration will go directly to the organization to support their ongoing mission to honor, empower and motivate our nations wounded heroes. The Spartan Race - Carolinas Heroes Heat with Team X-T.R.E.M.E. promises to be an epic and emotional journey through the Beast course. Kicking off at 9:50, the Team X-T.R.E.M.E. X-Athletes will don their mask along with Marine Cpl. Todd Love and other wounded warriors to show that nothing is impossible through determination and teamwork. You will be motivated and inspired as you walk, run, crawl and swim alongside them and Team X-T.R.E.M.E. Spartan Children's EventJr. Spartan Adventure Race

Spartan Race is not only limited to adult fun! Bring the kids who can participate in their very own Jr. Spartan race.  They will enjoy the thrill of the run, a variety of scaled down obstacles and their own mini festival area filled with games and children's challenges! Our mission is to inspire children to develop a love for fitness at an early age.

Entry fee is $25.00 Per Child ages 4-13.  The course is about a 1⁄2 mile filled with junior obstacles for children 4-9 and 1 mile for kids 10-13.  Each child will receive a T-shirt and Finisher's Medal with 100% of the Jr. Spartan Adventure proceeds benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation.  

As a leader in the movement to help children learn life-long health and fitness habits, the Kids Fit Foundation strives to raise awareness and develop programs that educate, empower and inspire kids to become and stay fit.
